Case #1400003075 Suspicious Subject Approaches Teenager
On Wednesday, 02/19/2014 at 21:15 Aransas Pass Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of FM 1069 in reference to a suspicious subject/vehicle approaching a teenager in the 2600 block of Demory Lane in Aransas Pass, Texas.
The 14 year old female informed police she had been approached by a man driving a silver sports car with blue tinted headlights and a wide rear bumper with a spoiler attachment as she was walking home from Walmart.
The Hispanic male subject drove his vehicle up to the female and he stopped the car and told her that she better not run. The reporting female said that this caused her fear, and she ran past the rear of the vehicle and fled to her residence because she felt that this man whom she did not know was trying to abduct her.
The man was described as having a fat (round) face, a mustache that grew down to his chin (handlebar style) but had no hair on his chin. The man was seen wearing a black cap with glasses on the rim. The male was Hispanic with a heavy Spanish accent.
The vehicle was last seen traveling North on 1069 before turning right onto Bypass 35.
AP Police are investigation this event.
Police continue to investigate leads as they are coming in for this case. Though there a few similarities pertaining to the description of the male subject in this case and the suspect in the October 2013 sexual assault case, we cannot conclude that the two are related, nor can we substantiate that a serial rapist is on the loose. That being said, we are considerate of all possibilities and factors and will continue to investigate these two cases to the fullest.
In conclusion, we feel that it is our duty to inform the public on all matters pertaining to public safety, this event being one of them. We encourage anyone with information about this case or the case from October 2012 to contact the Aransas Pass Police Department or to submit a tip through Tri-County Crime Stoppers.
