Chief of Police Eric Blanchard comes to the Aransas Pass PD from the Sinton Police Department.  He began his law enforcement career in 2000, after graduating the Del Mar Police Academy top of his class.  He worked a short time for the Mathis Police Department and the Portland Police Department but spent most of his time in the Sinton Police Department.  

Blanchard has worked patrol, investigations, and as an administrator, while in Sinton.  He excelled in criminal investigations working several large cases, some that span the globe.  His investigative talent was recognized by the Crime Victims Coalition in Corpus Christi, Texas as well as the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend.

Additionally, Blanchard enhanced technologies used by officers both on the street and within investigations.  These technologies improved policing for the communities served and strengthened relationships between the community and police.  Additionally, he developed websites for the Sinton Police Department and the Coastal Bend Children’s Advocacy Center. In fact, he developed and continues to maintain this website, as well.  Blanchard is experienced in leveraging technology, public safety management, and social media for the betterment of policing and law enforcement services.

In June of 2012, Blanchard was selected as the 5th Chief of Police for Aransas Pass.  Blanchard remains committed to enriching law enforcement services, wherever he serves.
