Chief of Police – Eric Blanchard comes to the Aransas Pass PD from the Sinton Police Department.  He began his law enforcement career in 2000, after graduating the Del Mar Police Academy top of his class.  He worked a short time for the Mathis Police Department and the Portland Police Department but spent most of his time in the Sinton Police Department.  

Chief Blanchard has worked patrol, investigations, and as an administrator, while in Sinton.  He excelled in criminal investigations working several large cases, some that span the globe.  His investigative talent was recognized by the Crime Victims Association of Texas as well as the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend.

Additionally, Chief Blanchard enhanced technologies used by officers both on the street and within investigations, in his previous agency.  These technologies improved policing for the community served and strengthened relationships between the community and police.  Additionally, he developed websites for the Sinton Police Department and the Coastal Bend Children’s Advocacy Center. In fact, he developed this website, as well.  Chief Blanchard is experienced in leveraging technology and social media for the betterment of policing and law enforcement services.

In June of 2012, Chief Blanchard was selected as the Chief of Police for Aransas Pass.  He is the 5th person to serve in this capacity.  Chief Blanchard remains committed to enriching law enforcement services, wherever he serves.
