Aransas Pass Animal Control, Back in Service – Animal Control Services have been restored for the residents of Aransas Pass. To utilize these services, contact AP Animal Control at 361-758-5224 (Police Dispatch, Non-Emergency Line). Normal hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After-hours response is limited to emergency matters only.

Important Items to Remember

  • Trapping response follows normal hours of operation (residents should refrain from trapping on Fridays, weekends, & the day before and day of City Holidays).
  • Register for pet tags online. Tags can be paid for and picked up anytime at the police department.
  • Matters pertaining to household pests such as bees, rodents, spiders and insects are not handled by Animal Control Services.
  • At-large cat’s must be trapped before animal control take possession of them.

Current Fee Schedule

Fee Schedule:
$2 for any dog Spayed/Neutered;
$5 for unaltered animal.

Animal Running at Large or Nuisance Animal Fee Schedule:
First offense: $26.75;
Second offense: $39.75;
Third offense: $52.75;
Fourth offense: $65.75;
Fifth offense: $78.75;
Sixth offense: Discretion of the court.

Impoundment of any animal:
$5.00 per day for any licensed animal;
$8.00 per day for any unlicensed animal;
$20.00 fee for impoundment;
$10.00 for vaccination certificate of any animal before release;
$5.00 for registration of any animal;
All costs incurred for medical attention for any animal.

Failure to turn over animal:
$10.00 – $500.00 plus holding fees

General Penalty for Animal-Code Violation in Court:
$50.00 – $500.00
