Case #17-9887, Veterans Memorial Park – We are happy to report we now have cameras at select locations across town. This one happens to be at Veterans Memorial Park. What a blessing it is to know we can catch crooks in the act.

This past weekend we discovered depictions of swastikas written in charcoal. They covered the pavilion concrete at the park. In a matter of minutes, Monday morning, we found video of the culprit. The video is from 5/6/2017 around 4:40 p.m. See for yourself…

(FYI: The flags have been replaced.)

Fortunately, for this event, there is no permanent damage and the markings will be washed away. However, we need parents to help us. Please properly supervise your children while using these beautiful parks. It’s costly for the City to provide nice creature comforts, so if we all do our part, we can make them last.

Oh and remember, would-be criminals, we are watching. In fact, did you know – damaging or defacing property at Veterans Memorial Park could result in felony charges? You can read all about Criminal Mischief here. If we catch you, we’ll charge you, and we might just post you, too.
