Citizens Academy Training, 2016…
Coming this December, the Aransas Pass Police Department will host active shooter training for the community. We’ve seen the need for some time and have been planning this training for our residents and business stakeholders. Being a South Texas law enforcement training hub and leader, we have the staff and experience to host this wonderful course. You won’t want to miss it.
The first CRASE course will be scheduled in December. A date has not yet been selected. Be sure to follow us through our website or on our social media to stay in the know.
Snippet from CRASE’s webpage:
Description: Law enforcement officers and agencies frequently get requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
You need to follow us on our website or social media, so you know when to sign up. You can also keep watch on our training calendar. Seating will be limited.
