Aransas Pass has its share of drug crimes.  The most abused drug in our community has historically been illegally possessed prescription medication. Methamphetamine is also a drug we commonly come in contact with.

Though some criticize, law enforcement’s war on drugs is more about the war on crime.  Those involved in drug use tend to be the same individuals involved in property-related crime. This type of criminality helps fund their habit. Drug addicts sometimes become victims of human trafficking or violent crime.

In AP, we work to combat drug crimes. We leverage a close partnership with surrounding agencies as well as our federal partners. Community support and collaboration is also a must!
