We Wish Everyone, a Safe and Happy 4th of July…
Tis the season for fireworks and celebration. As you probably know, the City of Aransas Pass does not restrict the popping of fireworks on the flats located east of the Dale Miller Bridge along Hwy 361, between Aransas Pass mainland and the Port Aransas Ferry landing. That being said, we ask that all participants be diligent in cleaning up their celebration area when done. Each year those celebrating the 4th of July and other Holidays celebrated with fireworks, leave behind lots of trash to include spent fireworks and snack/beverage containers.
This year to assist in keeping our flat-lands clean, the Aransas Pass Police Department will have officers out working the flats, seeking out those who do not clean up after themselves. Police will be in marked and unmarked police vehicles in an attempt to deter littering. Police will be issuing citations at the very least, but depending on the trash left behind, some may end up going to jail.
While celebrating your independence this year, remember to do your part in keeping Aransas Pass beautiful.
And for those of you who want to enjoy the display without the expense, come on out and join us on E. Johnson Street (Community Park). The City of Aransas Pass will be handing out goodies, playing a movie for the kiddos, feeding folks, and putting on our own fireworks display at 9:45pm. Great time and great fun!
